So as I write this, Jim is asleep on my lap, and Lydia is in her room having her after nap happy alone time. I can hear her happy squeals so I know she woke up on the right side of her toddler bed and that I've got a few more minutes here.

From the standpoint of family, we chose James and Daniel as family names. Tom's grandfather was James, and my sweet brother's name is Daniel. We also greatly appreciate the biblical figures the names represent, particularly the way Daniel stood in bold but humble righteousness at all cost, so becoming a godly man of influence in an evil place and time.

We started Lydia with rice cereal once a day mid March. She seems to like it! We've really been enjoying the Fisher Price Space Saver high chair we got on a Craigslist frenzy in February. There's a park with a walking trail a couple blocks from our house, so it's a perfect in between feedings outing...on a good day. It was so fun to enjoy my favorite season!!!!! We are excited to announce that she has reached six pounds. So excited in fact that I'm sitting in bed with the lap top beside me typing with my left hand while she nurses.
